This is a webpage-style blog I'm using to post updates on my Jellyfin server, mostly so I stop forgetting what I've changed and can point people here directly thoruhg the server. Fair warning: a lot of this is still very much a work in progress,

So, what happened to Jellyfin?

For a while I was running a Docker and native Windows service hybrid setup, which sounds efficient and modern and was, in fact, neither. It caused a fairly relentless stream of problems, So I've done the sensible thing and ripped it all out: everything now runs as a full native Windows install. No more hybrid nonsense.

What's still cooking

Some things are still happening in the background while I get everything settled. I'm also working on a few new features:

• A proper watchlist
• Better recommendations (the current ones are... optimistic, at best)
• Restoring a handful of older features that stopped working in the move over

The bad news

User data got wiped in the process, so I've gone ahead and recreated everyone's profiles from scratch. Sorry about that, think of it as a fresh start. If something's missing, wrong, or has mysteriously vanished, let me know. You know how to reach me. 🙂
